New Year, New Deductible

With the new year approaching, Partner Solutions wants to remind you of deductible and out-of-pocket maximum resets so that you are not caught off guard. Deductible and out-of pocket maximum resets not only apply to medical insurance but dental insurance as well (vision does not have a deductible). Every year come January 1st, your deductible and out-of-pocket maximums will reset to $0. This is because the Partner Solutions medical and dental plan deductibles operate on a calendar year- January 1st to December 31st.
What happens when my deductible and out-of-pocket maximums reset?
When your deductible and out of pocket maximums resets in January, the amount you contributed towards your health and dental care in the previous year returns to $0. You will need to meet the fixed deductible before the plan will begin paying for your health and dental care. However, the plan does not require that you meet your deductible to have preventative care covered. Preventative care is always covered 100% by the plan.
Please keep deductible and out-of-pocket maximum resets in mind when scheduling/coordinating any of your upcoming medical and dental care needs.
I thought my plan ran from September 1st through August 31st?
The Partner Solutions medical and dental plan deductibles run on a calendar year from January 1st through December 31st. Once you have met your deductible in a calendar year the insurance will begin paying.
The Partner Solutions benefit plan itself runs from September 1st through August 31st. The renewal of the plan and potential premium cost changes happen September 1st.
What is a deductible and out-of-pocket maximum?
Your deductible is the amount you are responsible for paying before the insurance plan will begin to pay for your health or dental care. Your out-of-pocket maximum is the most you will have to pay before the plan will cover all health and dental care at 100%, it is the combined amounts for deductibles, copays, and coinsurance you pay.
If you are unsure of your deductible and/or out-of-pocket maximum amount, please refer to the Benefit Guide located on the employee portal under the Employee Documents section.
