Charyl Stockwell Academy provides a safe place for children to grow and learn from childhood to adolescence. At CSA we provide a need fulfilling learning environment that is based on high expectations for quality work and academic performance, and educates the whole child. Our educational model addresses the intellectual/academic, social/emotional, moral/character, and physical development of each individual child. The educational methodologies we utilize at CSA are grounded in best educational practice, supported by extensive research. Our school stands for intellectual rigor within a warm and nurturing environment, free of coercive methods and interventions with children. Research on the brain and learning presents compelling evidence that children must feel emotionally safe in a school setting in order to fully maximize their learning potential.
We utilize a continuous progress / mastery learning model, with a component for the academically gifted student, to insure intellectual rigor; we promote methods that build upon every child’s intrinsic motivation to learn to insure an emotionally safe and need-fulfilling environment, and we have infused a strong character education program to insure that a child’s moral development is addressed within the school curriculum.
