The Academy of Warren kicked off their school year with a few fresh faces, two of which are in leadership positions. Justin Hauser has taken on the role as Director of Student Development and Oronde Kearney will fill the role as Chief Academic Officer.
Mr. Hauser started his career 16 years ago as a middle school teacher at Academy of Warren. Since launching his education career at the Academy of Warren, his path has taken him to the Southside of Chicago, Bradford Academy in Southfield and his most recent position as a regional academic quality controller based out of Flint. He received his bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University, and his master’s degree in teaching from Marygrove College.
“I am very excited for the upcoming school year at Academy of Warren. I feel very fortunate to come home to this school community and to be able to work and support the students, staff and the families of our school,” Hauser said.
Mr. Kearney received his bachelor’s degree in education from Grand Valley State University, and his master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. He has been in the education field for over 17 years. His experience spans leadership in elementary and middle school level education throughout the Metro Detroit school community. His most recent position was the middle school principal of Bradford Academy.
He believes that “a good leader must connect with staff, students and parents that you deal with on a daily basis,” and that “you have to find common ground and earn their trust. My mission is to meet the needs of the students and staff members that the Academy serves.”
“I have an open-door policy and look forward to getting to know each and every family,” Mr. Hauser said. “Mr. Kearney and I have spent years building a strong relationship and leadership approach that will benefit our students. I look forward to bringing that to the families at the school I call home.”
We are excited to have both Mr. Hauser and Mr. Kearney on our team and look forward to seeing the great things to come at Academy of Warren this year!
