Carlie Lockwood, Vice President of Human Resources
Carlie Lockwood earned her Bachelors of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Marketing, graduating in 1996. She joined Smart Schools Management as Human Resource Manager in 1998. In her current assignment as Vice President of Human Resources for MEP Services, Mrs. Lockwood coordinates all of the personnel, benefit, and other compensation issues for each school. She works with the school leaders and staff to develop annual staffing plans for each school, coordinates hiring, discipline, and works closely with authorizers and auditors. She and her husband Chad live in Fenton with their four children, Brady, Trevor, Bo and Drew.
Sheryl Kauppi, Human Resources Manager
Sheryl Kauppi joined MEP Services in May 2005. Mrs. Kauppi is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Prior to joining MEP Services she had an extensive background in customer service and office management including a wealth of experience in human resources. In her current position as Human Resources Manager, she works closely with the HR Director assisting staff, school leaders, authorizers, and boards. Sheryl manages the benefits department. She has a positive attitude and a wonderful friendly disposition.
Alana Benson, Human Resources Specialist
Alana Benson joined MEP Services in April 2010 as a Human Resources Specialist. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University Sum Cum Laude in 2008. Mrs. Benson brings experience in the area of administration and customer service. She has worked in various business fields and energized environments which makes her a wonderful match for the MEP Services team. She also has a great eye for detail and perfection. Her warm smile and personality along with her business ethics make her a valuable asset. Alana enjoys having the opportunity to work with our schools and educators.
Varsha Dalian, Senior Human Resources Specialist
Varsha Dalian joined MEP Services in 2009 as a Human Resources Specialist. In this role Varsha uses her attention to detail and excellent personal skills to be the day to day contact for employees and office personnel at the schools that she works closely with. Varsha handles payroll and auditing and enjoys each interaction with the employees that she services. She is a graduate of Rutgers Universityand received her Master’s in Management Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology. Her previous work experience includes System Analyst, Human Resource Compliance and Bookeeping which are a wonderful foundation for her position with MEP Services.
Kelly Fox, Human Resource Assistant
Kelly Fox joined MEP Services in March of 2011 as a Human Resource Assistant. She earned her Associates Degree from Lansing Community College. Kelly has over 20 years of experience in the secretarial, office management and human resource department areas and loves helping our HR Specialists keep our schools in compliance in every aspect of HR. Kelly and her husband, Larry, reside in Hartland and they have two grown sons, Alex and Brendan.
Susie Garbacz, Senior Human Resources Specialist
Susie Garbacz joined MEP Services in 2006 to assist the Director of Human Resources as the special projects coordinator. In September, 2008, she became a Senior Human Resources Specialist. Susie acts as an employee contact, handles the processing of payroll and employee compliance. She has unmatched customer service and the attention to detail needed in her position along with a wealth of experience in the field of Human Resources. Susie lives with her husband Tom and their daughter Stefanie.
Kristi Kauppi, Senior Human Resources Specialist
Kristi Kauppi is currently working as a Senior Human Resources Specialist. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 2009 and joined MEP Services upon completion of her degree. She has a strong background in customer service and employee supervision and training. Kristi has an eye for details and a shining personality and she is ready to serve our schools and employees. She lives in Royal Oak with her twin sister Jilli.
Amy Pezzotti, Human Resources Specialist
Amy Pezzotti joined MEP Services in 2010 as a Human Resources Specialist. She graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources with a Minor in Labor Relations and a Specialization in Training and Development. Amy’s previous work experience includes employment with the Department of Internal Medicine at Wayne State University as a Senior Benefits Specialist and a Senior Human Resources Specialist at Champion Enterprises, Inc. Amy’s background has provided her with the expertise and aptitude to make her a wonderful asset to the MEP Services team. Amy and her husband, Dean, live with their three children; twin sons Jacob and Joseph, and their daughter, Sabrina.
Michele Samoylov, Human Resource Assistant
Michele Samoylov joined MEP Services in 2010 as a Human Resource Assistant. In this role, Michele handles all areas of employee recruitment and manages the AESOP substitute placement program. Michele enjoys working with candidates as they look to become part of the MEP Services team of employees and has the technical aptitude that is a wonderful fit for her work with our online substitute placement software. Michele enjoys staying busy with her 10 year old daughter and son and their competitive sports.
Tracy Springer, Benefits Coordinator
Tracy Springer joined MEP Services in March 2011 as a Benefits Coordinator. She came to MEP with a wealth of previous benefit administration experience in the PEO business as well as over 20 years experience in human resources, customer service and administrative skills. All of this experience, as well as her warm and friendly demeanor, have allowed her to be a wonderful fit in the Benefits Department at MEP Services. Tracy always gives the employees that we serve her full attention in a prompt and efficient manner as she services them with the compassion that is often needed in dealing with employees during some of their hardest times in life. We are very thankful for Tracy and so are our employees.
Diane Vimr, Human Resource Assistant
Diane Vimr joined MEP Services in March of 2011 as a Human Resource Assistant. She brings over 20 years of experience in the administrative field including executive assistance and customer service. Diane’s previous work experiences include employment with the City of Novi Planning and Community Development Department and the White Lake Township Board of Trustees. Diane is very detail oriented and her meticulous organizational skills make her a valuable asset to our company.
Debbie Wightman, Benefits Coordinator
Debbie Wightman joined MEP Services in April 2010 as a Benefits Assistant in the Human Resources Department. She earned her BBA from Baker College and her Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification from Eastern Michigan University. Debbie brings years of experience in administrative and customer service roles to MEP Services. She has worked as an Assistant Buyer for Jacobsons, Buyer for a manufacturing company and a Financial Analyst for the State of Michigan. Debbie’s remarkable attention to detail, astonishing organizational skills and understanding of the business and educational field make her a perfect fit in her role. As a Benefits Coordinator for MEP Services she enjoys assisting people with any benefit or 401k questions.
